The vvitch
I had an incredible experience collaborating with Lizcraft Cosplay (model) and Bane Grimm Photo (assist) on this photoshoot. Lizcraft actually sewed an amazingly accurate Thomison dress inspired by the movie 'The Vvitch.' For those unfamiliar, 'The Vvitch' is a captivating film set in the 1630s New England, unraveling a chilling tale of witchcraft, black magic, and possession. It's a masterpiece of horror that I highly recommend.
Firstly, the attention to detail in the costuming is phenomenal, truly capturing the essence of the 1630s New England setting. Additionally, the film's use of period-accurate language enriches its authenticity, drawing you deeper into its world. But it’s the cinematography that truly sets 'The Vvitch' apart for me—every frame is a work of art, contributing to an atmosphere that’s simply to die for.

'The Vvitch' builds suspense and tension, not through jump scares or conventional camera tricks, but through exceptional acting and storytelling. The presence of a goat adds an eerie layer to the narrative, enhancing the film's unique take on witchcraft. This story unfolds in such a clever way, presenting a depiction of witches that’s far removed from the conventional, and keeps you guessing about the true source of malignancy.
For anyone who hasn't seen it yet, I can't recommend 'The Vvitch' enough. It’s a masterclass in horror that relies on genuine tension supported by incredible performances. It's exactly what I think of when witches come to mind, setting a benchmark for the genre.
